Do U See What I See?

by FH2o on December 14, 2005

I was on one of the upper floors of a condominium in Kuala Lumpur and as I looked down at the swimming pool below (see – I am always on the look out for waters!) I spotted 2 young girls playing in there, creating radiating ripples. Taking advantage of the fact that by zooming in from such a great distance I would not be able to get a sharp image but in effect the blurred image would create a paint-like abstract image; without the necessity for any photo-image manipulation software such as Photoshop. Nice!

BTW can someone tell me if the title is one those old classic christmas songs? All I could remember was this line and that part of the tune! Thanks!

Thanks ‘BIN! There must have been numerous cover versions over the years. Haven’t verified if this is the song yet - “please be patient while we load this page”; I was not!

Hey! jellyfish is teaching me bad things! But his face looks so innocent …

smashpop - You guys are obviously seeing MORE than I see!

The mind is an amazing thing - imaginative and inventive. If the photos had been sharp - it would have held no interests for you guys whatsoever! ;o)

It does look like a photo with that paint finishing. Even could be mistaken for a painting too. Nice touch. Should thank the camera then..:) Ermm…I think Robin and smashpop have the “typical” male brain..haha..

Jellyfish- shame on u..nondrinker,nonsmoker,nonclubber eh.

Not to mention intrusive! But good on you for capturing the abstract image. It allows people’s imagination to run wild and reverberate, like the ripple effect. Anyone who’s always on the lookout for intriguing images is ok in my book as well FH2O

Nice wave patterns and photos FH20. The white lines on the bottom of the pool help that effect I think.

Strangely, the title of the Christmas Carol you are thinking of is “Do you hear what I hear?” the first stanza of which is:

Said the night wind to the little lamb,
“Do you see what I see?
Way up in the sky, little lamb,
Do you see what I see?”

panda - thanks! That’s it!
That’s where I heard it from - from my christmases of days past spent in Sydney as a student when my radio was on 24hours … on a daily staple of radio talk shows , rock/pop/country music and the ubiquitous radio commercials.

Thanks again panda and oh! ‘BIN thanks for being so helpful as well!
