Chinese New Year Babe(s)!

by FH2o on February 9, 2006

No, it’s not what you think! This is not that kind of site!

Anyway on the day before Chinese New Year’s eve, Maureen most kindly brought back from KL for me my new boat! Thank you too Najib for going out of your way to assist me. Some people get themselves a new red car or sofa set for Chinese New Year but I hate to follow the crowd! It was a tandem sit-on-top kayak for recreational use (I am getting more popular now, remember?). When I went to the new nearly completed and crowded Kuching Airport to pick up Maureen and the ‘FeelFree Gemini’ we were the center of attraction as all eyes were on me as I carried/dragged the kayak from the arrival hall to my CRV. On the way back, I tried but could not come up with any plausible excuse, I mean reasons, to tell my other half why I’m buying another kayak when I already had five of various colours, sizes and types at home! Unlike a set of golf clubs or a tennis racket, its impossible to hide a 14 feet long kayak in your car boot!

The next day I gleefully unwrapped the plastic bubble wrap to see my new acquisition and to take it for a maiden paddle. My niece from Brunei and KH2o were watching me from the timber deck and before too long they too wanted to take it out for a spin! We had to cut our joy ride short when distinct shouts were heard from the house that ’some people are having fun’ while there are still a lot of preparation chores yet to be done before the new year. We sheepishly went back but not before I manage to take the following snaps! What excuse did I give and how did she take it? Errr, you don’t want to know and I don’t like to re-live nor relate painful incidents! Enough said ok before I get into bigger trouble! *sigh* Please just (shutup and stop laughing) enjoy looking at the photos quietly!

FH2o, that is six at last count; and seven pending (remember your ‘Perfect Partner’?). But, hey, who’s counting!! Madam is, I’m sure. haha….

Robin, I thought you’re also collecting!? The four-legged type, that is. Have you added that red dachshund to your line of cuties yet? Sometimes I just wonder how do you manage! Amazing!

Agus, right on! Come to think of it, the pot (Robin) is calling the kettle (FH2o) black. Sorry, folks, just couldn’t help it. hahahhahaha…….. Have a nice day, y’all. :)

Robin - d spore bak kua is excellent (dont let d bear hear this!) so excellent that my trousers now fit snuggly (button nearly bursting liao!)

Agus - see if u still have d smirk on ur face when i ‘accidently’ dipped u into d river when we go kayaking one fine day …

Happysurfer - when u count (or calculate) too much; it takes d romance out of life! :)

Chen - if i disclose how much d kayak is; my ears may be mortal danger if someone reads or report it! Shhhhhhh!

9lives - dont u have lectures to give or homework 2 mark? stop buggin’ me …

fish fish - wat a name! any special meaning 2 it? care 2 enlighten? my other half would cast a suspicious (n piercing)look on me whenever i pick up a kayak brochure or stare too long at a kayak advert in a magazine!

Sweet girls no doubt. Nice kayak. I just had two single sit on top kayaks on Maui, and one single sit inside type. They only weighed 35 lbs (16 Kg) each, so were easy for one person to handle when loading or unloading from my pickup truck. Of course, I was dealing with the ocean, not a calm body of water.

What ever teasing you are getting now, congrats on the new “mistress”. May she provide your friends and family with many happy memories on the water.

Well done, fh2o, what a beauty! I think I am going to have to check out the kayak range at our local store this weekend! Yes, hiding a kayak is quite impossible. Same with a motorbike. That’s one of the reasons why I haven’t bought a Harley Davidson yet! I have considered potentially parking a motorbike next door in my brother’s garage!

FH2O February 9, 2006 at 8:24 pm

panda - anyone who owns more than one kayak is either a collector or kayaker! welcome to the brotherhood!
i also understand that seakayaking is big in japan.

batukawa - happy browsing and remember to check d reviews and talk to owners b4 putting your money down otherwise u may really have to put it in your brother’s garage!

Pandabonium February 11, 2006 at 3:22 am

I’ll look at the sea in Japan - I’m not far from the coast. But am too used to the tropics to every get in it or on it in a kayak. Brrrr.

Chen February 11, 2006 at 3:38 am

oops… those kayaks must be costing a bomb :P
U can whisper to tell me the price next time :D

Guan February 11, 2006 at 11:29 am
