Here Today, Gone Today

by FH2o on February 22, 2006

When I went back for lunch yesterday, I saw the moth I had photographed in the morning lying on the floor – dead.

Like this cloud burst, its here for the moment and gone in the next.

This simple truth staring at us in the face that nothing last forever …

Blame in on this wet dreary day for getting me into a morbid mood. Urrggg!

“We cannot tell what may happen to us in the strange medley of life. But we can decide what happens in us…how we can take it, what we can do with it…and that is what really counts in the end.”

Robin - hello, hello? We’re are surrounded by trees on 2 sides; u gonna’ve to send it tankers if u wanna exterminate all the insects. We just leave them alone.
Happy to report that lately the population of fireflies is on the increase!
Eh, sakai sporean - ever seen a firefly before?

Good one Selba! :)

Not sure why you feel that way Chen. I always felt they were kind of magical.
But we all experience things differently.

FH2O, you’ve been awfully reflective on life lately. Maybe turning the big five - oh has brought that on. There is beauty in the cycle of life, and its impermanence makes it all the more precious.

You are one who sees deeply into things and appreciates beauty. Another paddle and a bit of sun and you will feel right as rain again I think.

chen - you must be mistakenly thinking of sandflies; the pesky little gnats whose bites leaves one itchy for days if not weeks on end! FIREFLIES glows at night and are simply MAGICAL when they dances around at night with their flickering lights. Much better to watch than American Idol anytime!

Hate to disappoint you. Sua Ku Unker..

If you check my homepage you will see the ‘nature reserve’ is next to my home and we constantly see fireflies.. In fact I think they are such a nuisnace because they will land on my orchid and then my orchids petal will be spotted.

Psst PSST Baygon is better, BYE and Gone!

Robin - I don’t mind spots on my apples (or petals); leave me the birds and the bees (and fireflies) … big yellow birdy! (humming along to Joni Mitchell)
