(A Field Guide to) The Fishes of Kuching Rivers, Sarawak

To think that I nearly overlooked this; but fortunately I chanced upon The annotated budak's review of this book in his site.

A Field Guide to the Fishes of Kuching Rivers, Sarawak by Katherine Atak, a British biologist; just been published last month is of particular interests to me as it covers Sungei Sarawak, Sungai Maong and Sungai Kuap; three rivers that I had paddled on many occasions. Hopefully I would in time be able to identify some of the one hundred and two species described with detailed information on the appearance, habitat and distribution in this book. At last now I know how to call the long-snouted pipefish by its proper name!

Time for me to get educated on tropical estuarine biology and I wondered if the good lady biologist makes any mention of the other bigger four-legged inhabitants of the Kuching Rivers! Kayaking anyone?StumbleUpon Toolbar Stumble It!

i got this book liaw. 2nd day after it was officially launched. cost me RM50. imho... i dun think all of the fishes in these 3 rivers were catalogued. still, the book is a good read.
