Fire In the Sky
posted by FH2o
We had a dinner function to attend but at the last minute, the missus suggested that 'Chinese Valentine Day' or 'Chap Goh Mei' (which literally means 15th night in the 'Hokkien' dialect) should be better spent together with the family. I agreed and we decided on “My Restaurant”, a western steak restaurant at the SamaJaya Roundabout (operated by the ex-chef from ‘Carvery’), as it was highly recommended by one of our friends who eat out a lot (and have the size to show for it!). On the drive there, the skies put on a spectacular display of fiery crimson reds and I could not persuade my family that we stop while I take a couple of quick snaps with threats that they will drive off I get out of the car - nice huh? I drove faster hoping that the light holds when we reached the restaurant; which fortunately it did. And while my family went into the restaurant; I rushed to take as many photos as I could of the fire in the sky. Here are the snaps and am I the only crazy person in Kuching excited by beautiful skies, clouds and water?

Post a CommentYes, simply amazing indeed! Ay pictures of the food you had by the way?
agus - wah! so fast u commented!
I have but in view of recent sentiments, a 'non-halal' pic would not be prudent! Plus it's also my narrow personal opinion that food blogs r eerrr, so lame! Oops! With sincere apologies to all the food bloggers! (Robin! - quik! u still have that metal table that I can borrow?)

I like to take shot of the skies, clouds as well, especially during the dusk. Sometime while drving, I'll also stop my car for a while to take that perfect skies, clouds...is just a wonderfull feeling that able to capture that scene. Nice photos :)

Very nice. Reminds me of those credit card size pictorial cards with quotations or jokes that they sell in bookshops.
I remember picking one up as a spontaneous little gift for a Casanova friend of mine so that he could use it on his dates.
It says on one side "The bearer of this card has three wishes." The flipside says "Me. Me. and Me." Cool, eh?
I know he treasured that card but not sure if he still has it with him. Considering his life-size ego, he would still be having it, I'm sure.

Recent sentiments; is that still on? And if I remember correctly, you did let slip your coffee butter prawn in here somewhere...I can still smell the coffee...sniff*
happysurfer - errr, I had no such motives as your casanova friend when I did the photoshop montage as i've no ego.
When u r on the waters long enough, u'll quickly realise that the rivers/seas will win and so u respect the forces of nature n eat humble pie!
Glad that u like 'em.
agus - hahaha! that was not strictly a food blog in the sense of the word!

I wonder how the whole family can stop doing everything and let u take the pics.. hahaha...
But it is sure nice...hmmm.. the price drop S$10.. may be i should also buy one.,.

Wow..too bad I wasn't anywhere outside of the house to view that. Definitely the best pics of the clouds so far.
wonder if you have taken the pics earlier would it be as beautiful as it is now?
Beautiful. I especially like the top right pic. The tree looks be on fire.
