Beautiful Borneo Highlands

by FH2o on March 19, 2006

We had just came back from our river run from Bengoh to Danu and we had a wonderful time on the river and exploring the Borneo Highlands area after our paddle.

The place is so beautiful and we had discovered a new river, with crystal clear mountain water that we would definitely be back to paddle, which joins Sg Sarawak Kiri; the river we were on. I couldn’t wait to share this with you; so here are some quick photos!

The place and river is so beautiful that all residents of Kuching really do owe it to themselves to experience this wondrous magical river; at least once in their lifetime.

A posting and more photos (in the next few days) will follow this quick post.

Trust that your sunday had been just as wondrous and satisfying.

Woof! woof!

Whoaaaaa…. looks so beautiful…. The morning mists is really nice…
Oh… what a cute dog :)

Waiting for more photos!!!!

Hi selba! - yes; the cool morning air and the mist creates a moody atmosphere.

I think it’s the alpha dog as all the other kampong dogs were staying well clear of him n he was not afraid of me even as I approach him to take a closer shot. What a handsome animal!

Yes, FH2o, it is most definitely a moody atmosphere! Tree-covered mountains hugged by mist has always been one of my favorite kinds of scenery. I can sit and look at it for hours (and probably compose a dozen songs and/or a few dozen pages of poetry afterward).

Spectacular countryside!

FH2O March 19, 2006 at 7:49 pm

Most beautiful scenes, as always. The climate up there must be refreshing. You’re right, I must make my way up there on my next flight east.

FH2O March 20, 2006 at 2:05 am

selba - oh! I thought u n chen were coming together? no?

Hmmm in that case I’ll put you and Robin on the same kayak; sit back and watch the fun begins as we meander down the river!

Now, I can hardly wait for the arrival of Mr and Mrs Smith!! heehee!

Selba March 20, 2006 at 3:11 am

Huh? Mr and Mrs Smith? LOL.. where does that idea come from?

Yes, I would love to go together with Chen, but so far, as I understand, her schedule is depend on her work.

As for me, I was thinking to take a leave from 11 - 13 April (we have 2 holidays on 10 and 14 April, so I can have the whole week holiday), but I’m not sure with Robin…

I need to move fast if the plan is confirmed because my passport will be expired very soon and need to ask my supervisor for taking the leave.
