Wet Day

by FH2o on March 29, 2006

It was raining almost the entire day yesterday and the building inspection has to be postponed from the morning to the afternoon. And there we were in the afternoon waiting for the rain to stop so that authorities would turn up for the inspection.

Instead of just twiddling my thumbs (or smoking) like everyone else was while waiting; I took the opportunity to take some photos of the overhead glass entrance canopy much to their bewilderment; and I guessed these people would be even more so if they found out that I actually blog about kayaking! My secret life or rather a part of my life most of whom I deal with on a daily basis has little idea about. Hmmm.

Anyway here are the photos taken in colour and not manipulated by Photoshop (other than the rotation and ‘drop shadow’); and feel the wetness!

So what do you do when you are caught in the rain?

Well, the spontaneous and normal thing I will do is run to a dry place or take out my umbrella :)

oh… I have a friend that is very crazy of rain, he loves rain, so everytime it’s raining, he will go under the rain and feel all the rain drop at his body or he’ll just lay on the ground listening to the sound of rain dropping, he said as the earth is talking to him…. hahaha…

selba - u do have a strange friend indeed!

pink cotton - sorry to hear that; trust u’re not hurt. :(
I get worried for ‘em when i see ladies with stilleto heels walking about on wet slipperly surfaces …

I like to watch people running for shelter, people falling down, others laughing..

Most of all, I like to watch the raindrops as it hits the ground.

I wonder whether you would taken the pics if not for the blog…

robin - i had been taking photos since uni days well before the word ‘blog’ existed! How else do you think I get to be so good with my photography? *ahem* ;)

if not for the convenience of digital cameras, I’ll still be taking photos with my old Nikon FM2 and incomparable Leica M6 *sigh*

rain and i don’t go well together. i get a bad migraine if my hair gets wet by the rain.

EGADS!!! An FM2 user! brings back fond memories of really fast things being caught on film. I’m sure I caught them. If they don’t show up it is entirely the developer’s fault - obviously slow processing. And the ring flash…

FH2O March 29, 2006 at 11:02 pm

flaneur - yes! an FM2 Forever!

dare i venture to say that you haven’t really ‘lived’ until you have held an FM2 in your hands or pressed the silky smooth release shutter of an M6…. ahhhhh! :)

I heard this very very old song called “Rain” by Jose Feliciano and ever since then, this song comes to mind when I’m trapped somewhere because of the rain.

FH2O March 30, 2006 at 2:32 am

happysurfer - that’s a great song! i love it too.

what comes to mind is this other really old song ‘…listen to the rhythmn of the falling rain … tellin me what a fool I’ve been …’

when i’m caught in the rain, I will search around for shelter (if I don’t have an umbrella together with me) :)

The Moody Minstrel March 30, 2006 at 8:25 am

What do I do if I’m caught in the rain? Quite often I wind up with a new idea for a musical composition…or a blog post…

FH2O March 30, 2006 at 8:48 am

agus - too sensible!

chen - too ’safe’!

moody - too creative!
