For Robin lah!

posted by FH2o

For the past weeks, Robin has been fretting over Elmo which was lost but recently spotted in the neighbourhood. Problem is that Elmo; though emancipated and probably infected with some diseases already, refuses to come home. Elmo is not a ‘local’ cat but a ‘Russian Blue’ and so it’s not suited to live out in the streets. Being a ‘spoilt’ house cat with thick fur, he is also not capable of looking after himself unlike our local cats which has adapted to the street environments and are constantly grooming themselves. Elmo and the other house cats are given baths and probably do not 'self-groom' as much.

I’m really lousy at comforting people (I'll probably just sit next to and cry with you!) but I cancelled my expedition with Huey; (sorry Huey! But I did make it up to you didn’t I?) so that I could keep Robin occupied while he was in Kuching as I know that his pets are like my children are to me - precious beyond words.

Hey Robin! Here’s a picture I took of one of the stray cats that we like while we were in Bau town near Tasik Biru that time waiting for commando Huey’s return from his solo river trip. Hope this’ll cheer you up just a little bit. Please don't make me sit next to and cry with you!

Thanks Unker, you are the Best!

OOps.. some water is leaking from the ceiling and falling on my cheek.

The neighbours have called the Authorities and it is now catch and kill.. unless he is caught by my cat trap tonite.
Robin - this is so sad to hear.

But let's pray that Elmo will be lured into the trap tonight.

KH2o will cry a river if I tell her tonight, so I'm keeping mum. She wouldn't know as she does not read my blog (or so she claims)
Why catch and kill? Is it necessary, the kill part, I mean.
I agree with happy, why the kill part?? It is not as though Elmo is a vicious predator or something. What's with the law?
happy & yd - i believe that if an animal is wild n diseased, it is considered a menace and had to be put down for fear of infecting other domestic animals as well as humans that it comes into contact with.

It may sound cruel but it is necessary. Eg a stray cat/dog with d rabies virus in the neighbourhood is a real health threat to those exposed to or bitten by it. If rabies is transmitted to humans and untreated, it is fatal. So this is a serious matter.

The authorites know what they are doing.
i believe you mean "catch OR kill" and not "catch AND kill" right?
wow..
i love cats too.. i know i will be devastated if i ever own a cat and lose it one day...
Yes, fH2o is right. Elmo is diseased with Feline Flu and Eye Infection.

The authorities may put up poisonious baits, which mean catch and kill.

Nope, no sign of him yesterday night... well, it is up to his fate now. My cat-trap is still there and my gate is opened, waiting for his home coming.
Hmmm, the thought of seeing you crying to comfort Robin is rather interesting. But of course that won't happen. I'll just imagine then.

I wish Elmo well.
