Our heartfelt sympathy and condolence to Lily Tan on the demise of her beloved father Peter Tan Teck Kee @ Tan Gek Ling, aged 80 who was called to the lord on Saturday, 8^th April 2006 at12.35pm. Peter is the eldest brother of Edward Tan, my old classmate who’s in Singapore. I learnt of this from the obituary in the newspaper this morning.

The Cortege will leave St. Joseph’s funeral parlor for requiem mass at St. Joseph’s Cathedral at 10.00 am on 10^th April 2006 and thereafter for burial at Heng Hua Cemetry, 8^th Mile, Jalan Batu Lintang.

I met Lily Tan and her husband Steven Chen when I first came back to Kuching from Singapore and we had lost touch in recent years. Lily and Steven are two of the gentlest, sincere and deeply devoted Christians that I had the good fortune to acquaint with. They were also my ‘up-line’ when I ‘dabbled’ in network marketing with a company which had since changed their name to Unicity Network.

Isn’t it strange that it sometimes takes a funeral to bring people together and makes us ponder about our own finality in this our short journey through life.
