Short Talk on Kenny Sia’s Fans

by FH2o on May 13, 2006

Thanks to a short mention in Kenny Sia’s “Short Talk”; I received over a 1,000 hits than I would normally get on a sleepy Saturday. The finally tally was 1,173 which is of course a trickle compared to the number of hits Kenny’s site gets in a day. But awesome for mere mortals like us. That’s the incredible traffic drawing power of Kenny Sia.

But the funny thing was not just the sheer number but the lack of comment(s) from the readers redirected over to me by Kenny’s link. Correction - there was one stewpig negative comment from someone who’s obviously jealous of Kenny’s popularity. If you’re slim and trim; does that make you a better person than Kenny? So why is that so? Perhaps you can let me know. Don’t worry - I can handle the truth! It would be enlightening. Here are some speculations:-

  1. My site is lame (or very lame) or ‘not very happening’.
  2. Perhaps they are suffering from ‘shock-n-awe’ on the entirely different nature/concept of my blog.
  3. They are left speechless by the brilliant pics. *ahem*
  4. They are still reeling from the fact that there’s actually life after 40. Must be kind of shocking to find out that someone as old or older than their parent is actually blogging?

Irregardless, thanks for checking out unker’s site and since you all are such fans of Kenny, here’re some more pics of him kayaking like a pro before he ‘keeled over’! Enjoy the pics. Perhaps I can get Kenny to autograph and sell ‘em on ebay! Hmmm.

Have a happy Mother’s Day Sunday!

Short Talk:

Note to self: never ever go out kayaking after only sleeping for a grand total of ONE hour, and especially NOT when your breath still reeks of alcohol from partying till 4am last night.

unker,
If I only get to sleep for one hour the day & night before, the next thing I want to do is zzzzz & not other things ;)

FH2O May 14, 2006 at 3:16 am

chen - i’ll be a zombie if i only have 1 hour’s sleep … a very irritable zombie! ;)

The Yongs May 14, 2006 at 6:41 am

May I ask what camera you use to take those stunning shots? They are beautiful shots.

FH2O May 14, 2006 at 7:37 am

the yongs - someone asked me the same question in d ‘Vesak Evening’ post; so here’s d same answer again! Actually I’d been asked this same question many times previously; perhaps I should have a FAQ on my site! ;)

anonymous - i use a 4.0 Megapixels PENTAX Optio 43 WR digital camera if I’m not using the 2.0 Megapixels Sony Cyber-shot U DSC-U60 digital camera. Simply because they’re water resistant and waterproof cams.

But its not the cameras lah kiddo; although I’ll be deadly with the new Sony R1!

hmmm… mr ho. i thought one of the rules was that one should not kayak if intoxicated… so you allowed it?

FH2O May 14, 2006 at 8:22 am

ah beng - he was not intoxicated lah! otherwise he would not be able to paddle a straight line!

u should know Kenny by now - he likes to tell a good story. don’t be so gullible lah! next u’ll believed that he actually ‘ran’ a marathon! ;)

You sure have great pics. If i didn’t see the camera for myself i think i would never have believed it. hehe. it’s really the skills eh unker

FH2O May 14, 2006 at 6:11 pm

ivan - thanks.

it’s more than skills (of exposure - f-stops n shutter speeds, composition, etc which one MUST understand), it ’s the art of seeing, really seeing … with our eyes AND heart (do u feel anything?).

I’m still learning and perfecting the craft n art of photography. One fine day i’ll get there … :)
Then I’ll blow your mind away! heehee :)

Kenny Sia May 14, 2006 at 10:11 pm

Thanks. :) I’ll be better prepared next time.

FH2O May 14, 2006 at 10:35 pm

kenny sia - u’d better be!

we do not want to have to read about it in the headlines nor do I want to have your legions of fans after my head or balls! Ouch! ;)

Happysurfer May 15, 2006 at 1:07 am

Ouch! That would hurt. Sorry, couldn’t resist that.

FH2o, nice post and great pictures of the king and sky.

I agree that in photography, the art of seeing is important.

haha, I like # 4 They are still reeling from the fact that there’s actually life after 40. Must be kind of shocking to find out that someone as old or older than their parent is actually blogging?!

Here’s one old blogger to another! Cheers!
