Kuching Kayaking : Kampung Style!

by FH2o on May 14, 2006

The highlight of the city kayaking trip with Lou on Friday morning for me was surely the sight of this little boy in his kayak fashioned out of plastic barrel cut into half! It drew a chuckle from both of us and a quick snap from me. This is just one of the unexpected sights when you kayak along the river by the city!

The little boy is able to smile and enjoy himself like that because he’s in a river by choice. If he were riding out floodwaters in that barrel with his home under a few meters of water, I’m sure his face would look quite different.

(With the weather the way it has been going here, I wouldn’t be surprised if our kids wound up looking like that…minus the smile, of course.)

(*sigh* There I go throwing dirt on a perfectly happy scene again…)

By far, this is the better picture, and more spontaneous in nature than the typical overly formulated and predictable bunch from unker. :)

I like the smile and he sure truly having fun with he has on hands.

Jungleman

Jungleman - hmmm does it occur to u that this scene could have been more easily ’staged’ than any of those of the lights and clouds in the sky? which if so would then make me HIM and the power to vapourise u to a crisp! What an evil but delightful thought! heehee ;)

Life is indeed so serene and lay back. Ah…if only there’s a stream at my backyard.

I always say “if it floats, it’s fun”.
