I Adopted a New Baby … Template!

by FH2o on June 4, 2006

Some of us can leave well enough alone (but not me!) and at the risk of incurring some ire from some of you out there, I’d changed my template for the third time since I started my blog last year. And that’s not including the numerous tweakings of the various design elements of the layout along the way …

Anyway this is my newly adopted template from Pannasmontata Template with some changes to suit my taste. I had saved the previous template so that I can easily revert back to it if there’s too much hue and cry from you folks. I’m using Firefox so you may not enjoy the ‘full glory of its magnificence’ if you’re using other browsers!

So, here’s the new look and your feedback would be appreciated; not that I can stop you from commenting irregardless!

Oh; and this time I’ll stick to this template for a while before I contemplate changing it again. They say that as one get older, you’ll become more and more adverse to changes; but not me! Now if only I’m proficient in html, then I’ll really have some fun with the templates! Heehee

its called mid life crisis!

Don’t listen to them. I started tinkering with my template also. Sometimes you just need to change things, so you don’t get bored.

wuching - haha! some ppl change their life’s partner, while I just change templates! less dramatic as well as traumatic!;)

richard - thanks! my problem is more of a short attention span and I tend to get bored very easily if faced with the same old thing … ;)
and I’m not afraid to try new things! infact i relish ‘em! :)

Hmmm… i like the first first template better.. after u have changed it, it never seems to be be quite right.

your chat box is now ontop and all your post are below.. is this the new design or are they supposed to be side by side..

perhaps increasing the column width may help..

One more thing.. my comment is up on your comment box.. but not in your post..

why like that one?

hi robin! so many compliants oldei! die liaow!

funny but it looks fine on Firefox and ok on my IE as well although the divider graphic of the folding kayak in plan is missing. I’ll see what I can do but I’m no expert lah! Perhaps I should just revert back to my very first blogger template - Minima. *sigh*

i’ll wait and see what the others have to say! :)

FH2o, my input:

Positives
1. Everything in the right place.
2. Looks brighter.

Negatives
1. I still need to scroll right about an inch.
2. Do not like red text.
Red on grey on the header is an eye-strain. Red elsewhere is bearable.

I agree with Robin that your very first template is still the best. Your choice of course.

happy - red? I thought it’s Orange! OMG one of us is colour blind!
u remembered my first template? ;)
i do like Blogger’s “Minima”

Happysurfer June 5, 2006 at 1:59 am

FH2o, it does look more red than orange (thank goodness because if it’s orange it’s even WORSE!) Anyway, orange or red on grey is the pits!

OMG, don’t be so quick in passing judgment. I AM NOT COLOUR-BLIND! Everyone sees colours differently and besides every PC is configured differently or are you not aware? Hey, you asked for inputs so you shouldn’t be shooting down the people who input with negative comments.

I remember that your old blog was simpler to navigate. Minima is the very minimum - just plain white and simple.

FH2O June 5, 2006 at 2:33 am

happy - actually my monitors (i use two)are colour-calibrated, balanced and fine-tuned for colours as well as greys since i used ‘em for my 3D colour renderings and presentations in my daily work.
my statement was more a matter of concern to myself since i’ll be worried if they are ‘off’ and not to be construed in any manner as passing judgement or ’shooting down’ of anyone passing a ‘negative’ comment.

either orange or red on grey is not that bad; i quite like ‘em actually! but then again that’s my professional opinion only and may not be to everyone’s taste. the colour scheme was not mine; i just happen to adopt ‘em from Pannasmontata Template which I happen to like.

thanks for your comment

Whoa! I thought I stumbled into the Orage website! :-)

The layout seems ok in both my firefox and IE. The blog actually looks clean and sparkling (maybe becuz the background is pure white, hehe). But personally I prefer the blue blue one. :-)

and I LOVE the picture today!!!

Happysurfer June 5, 2006 at 2:59 am

FH2o, thanks. Your points noted. Perhaps it’s just me being allergic to red or orange on grey. It gives me a headache, literally.

I use Firefox at home and Internet Exploder at work. It looks great on both of ‘em.

Now I’m starting to think about messing with my template…which scares me since my HTML savvy is kind of like big-name American beer, i.e. not a whole lot of content to speak of…

Pandabonium June 5, 2006 at 5:22 pm

I like it. A change is good from time to time.

The ripple on a reflection picture is fantastic! The clouds in teh distance look like a mountain.

mm - once u’ve back-up the original template settings, u can be fearless! ;)

panda - thanks. i love this photo too! :)
