Nature’s Amazing Beauty

by FH2o on June 12, 2006

Reflections of water (clouds) on water bordered by reflected silhouette of trees and shadows.

I have been complimented on many occasions that my photographs are amazing even from one or two people who do not like my ‘attitude’. Guess that must also be a compliment as I didn’t know that I had one either!

Irregardless, its actually nature that is amazing, not my photographic skills nor my humble consumer Pentax Optio43WR 4 megapixel digital camera. It is just that I’m a better and more alert observer than most. I think I’m sensitive to or rather I would like to think that I am more aware of the environment or what is happening around me. On the other hand I think that I’m pretty dense sometimes when it comes to other issues in my life! Just ask my other half. I am too much of a dreamer for my own good sometimes although I guessed I’m more grounded than when I was younger. Then and even now, I keep a lot of my hare-brain schemes and ideas to myself. Less you would think of me as half past six.

But dreaming helps me in framing or composing my shots. I see what I want to see or draw out the essence by cutting out the clutter and trying to balance that difficult unity of capturing the stillness of drama and movements. I’m totally immersed in the moment and I’m guided by intuition and experience. I take the best photographs then when I’m ‘lost’ like this and when I see not with my eyes but love and appreciation in my heart. Even though I always know even before I press the shutter whether I’ve got a winner or not but even then I’m frequently pleasantly surprised when I view the photos later. The beauty of nature is always there and I occassionally get lucky thats all. I increase my luck by taking more photos.

I love being on the water and come to think of it clouds are water too and when I can’t be on the water or away from it, the next best thing is to look up and dream about it!

The magic of clouds - in lights and shadows and the silver linings in between.

Clouds are merely collection of tiny droplets of water and are white because when they are so small and scatter all the wavelengths of light evenly, pure light passes through them and when they reach us we seem them as white. When they get bigger as in storm clouds, they block out the light and appear relatively dark against the bright sky. The wonderful colours of sunrise and sunset are just scattering of light by tiny particles as it passes through the larger atmosphere. Just a few simple ingredients, but producing an infinite myriad of colours and compositions.

Now isn’t nature’s beauty amazing! Go see it. Just look up!

Life is full of dreams, hopes and fantasy..

That’s the objectives in all advertising campaigns and marketing promotions, targeting to people who would rather - should have, could have and would have.. instead of I now have.

So are u are a prey for this too.. since u are a dreamer?

I like the landscape photo, the bottom one - it depicts different emotions all on one single picture. Lovely.
