More Than I Can Bear

by FH2o on June 17, 2006

I took the earliest flight I could get on Thursday morning to Sibu so that I could maximize my time there since I had not been to Sibu in over a decade. And that time (this time too) it was strictly on business and I scarcely got to see or know the city. Although at that time I got to eat a lot of the famous ‘empurau’ freshwater fish which sadly has now been almost eaten out of extinction. I was determined not to make the same mistake tens year down the line; not only about the fish but taking time out from work for other things in life.

I chose a window seat on the left for the short 35 minutes flight so that I can get a bird’s eye view of the city. On the way there, the sights of meandering rivers are more than this kayaker can bear. Why must I feel that I should kayak on all the rivers that I set eyes on? Good thing it’s only kayaking and not other interests. I could easily get myself into a whole load of trouble!

Those rivers make me want to hit the water with you in kayak, but even more than that, the view from the air makes me long for a pair of wings.

On the water or in the air there is something of the wayfarer in each of us.

Beautiful pics, as always Unker.
