Serenity @ Semadang

by FH2o on July 15, 2006

The take-out at borneo highlands is at Kg. Semadang which is a such a tranquil and scenic picture of serenity that it is almost hard to believe that in the floods a few years back the water levels rise up to and swept away part of the walkway leaving the residents cut-off from Kuching and leaving them stranded for a couple of weeks until the bridge was repaired.

I think they are called suspension bridges not because of their construction, but because of the suspense as to whether or not you are going to make it across. ;^)

wuching - the locals told us that the floods was in 2003 and 2004. Looking at the bridge in real life; its really mind boggling to think that it actually happened!

panda - the bridge squeaks and sways as you walk across it and even more so when someone on a motorbike/scooter rides past you on one!

Yup..been to that village with KNB and yes..the great flood of 2003 washed the bridge off and they had to built a new one on their own…..nice place and the river is very very tempting

Sounds interesting and a nice picture too. Say, that looks like a durian tree, the conical-shaped one.
