BBQ Biawaks
We were driving back from Kg Semadang in the evening after kayaking when I spotted a man roasting something over a BBQ fire. The ‘something’ turned up to be 3 biawaks or monitor lizards which the man had just caught that day. I had tasted biawak meat before cooked in ginger and spring onions, chinese cooking style, but certainly not BBQ whole like this!
The man explained that they would BBQ it until half-cooked before they gut it to get rid of the innards; it’s apparently easier to do it this way. Then it would be back onto the grille until the biawak is well done. Like that. It's excellent dipped in 'kicap' or dark soya sauce. Kelvin tells me that it goes down best with ‘lengkau’ but beer is also fine. BBQ biawak anyone?

Can't remember whether I've mentioned or not in here, but my mom's friend, got rid of her cancer from drinking 1 cicak everyday (being chopped and then put in a capsule). Then my cousine who got very high fever above 40C(already "step" aka kejang-kejang) drink 1 glass of a burnt cicak got sembuh.
A few years ago, I saw a man selling a mountain of dried geckos for men's medicine on the street. Very disgusting....
