Miracle Church @ Mount Hossana

posted by FH2o

We made a short detour to take a look at the locally famed ‘miracle church’ at Mount Hossana on the drive to Sebeliau. The gate was locked as it is only opened on Sunday morning for mass and I took some quick snaps from outside the gate marveling at the simple but striking architecture and the miracles that has occurred here.

Tales of people who are cured of crippling ailments by the time they reached the inside of the church up the steep and long climbing steps up to the church which would no doubt tests one’s faith.

Look out for this church should you drive up from Kuching to Sri Aman next time and it’s on the right hand side. You would want to see this most unexpected and inspiring building. And I wished you a miracle. Have a Wonderful Weekend.

BTW the St Thomas's Cathedral, Kuching is having their

What a unique design! I never seen such church design in Msia yet. Any idea when it was built? In fact, any idea what was the oldest church in Sarawak?

An interesting design - reminds me of the castle of Fantasyland in Disneyland.

Interesting too about the miracles.

Enjoy the Parish Sale if you'll be there.
Plain, pure and simple. That's the feeling I get looking at the church.
Ah yes the church on the hill. I went there a few years back. The view was wonderful and so were the flowers around the steps leading up to the church.
The site and the name, St. Thomas Cathedral is the oldest but not the current building. The honour of the oldest church would most likely go to St. James Anglican Church at Kampung Quop at 10 mile which is over a 100 years old, the structure that is..
To Divlin's question on when was the Church @ Mount Hossana was built, it was roughly in the Mid 90's but was consecrated by the Roman Catholic Archbishop, Dato Seri Peter Chung in 1997. Currently, the Church is maintained by the Our Lady, Queen of Peace Parish, Sri Aman and the Priest to contact for entry and special Masses to be said is Rev. Fr. Richard Khoo @ 083-308076

Really? It reminds me of a pack of crayons, but all white to color you pure.
quavadis - thanks for the information! most thoughtful and helpful of you! :)
MM, LOL!! White will be my new colour from now on - doesn't matter if I harbour impure thoughts. What a farce!
My first impression was crayons too. Or perhaps grain silos. As the calf said to the silo,"is my fodder in there?"

Food for thought.
