Red Grasshopper?

Someone spotted a big red insect hanging upsided down on a rocky outcrop and I paddled over to have a look and to take a few snaps. It looked like a grasshopper to me and it was bright red in colour. Funny how in the photos, it has the brownish colour of a cockcroach. Looking at the incredibly long feelers, it could just be a cockcroach! Does anybody know?

i don't think it's a roach as the hind legs seem to be made for jumping. it's an overgrown cricket perhaps?

hahaha.
