Of Chaotic Airport and Beautiful Skies

by FH2o on December 9, 2006

Kota Kinabalu’s Airport at T2 is in the midst of undergoing massive upgrading works creating a chaotic situation of massive proportions with dust, noise, heat and overcrowding at the check-in and departure lounge; so we were glad to leave the terminal building and the discomfort to board our aircraft back to Kuching. It was a relief when the airplane took off as we looked down on the beautiful waters and nearby islands of Kota Kinabalu below us bathed in the brilliant sunshine. The weather was brilliant with perfectly white puffy clouds gently floating admist deep cobalt skies.

And you know what? In an most uncharacteristic and unexpected but pleasant manner, AirAsia actually arrived 20 minutes ahead of schedule! What a nice end to a lovely family holidays in Bangkok.

Definitely a beautiful skies on a Saturday :)

Last week, I had a chat with someone from Brunei, he said that when I visit Brunei someday, I also should visit Kota Kinabalu. Now, am wondering whether it would be a good idea because by looking at the chaotic airport, it doesn’t attract me at all…

selba - Kota Kinabalu is short 20minutes plane hop from Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei and is definitely worth a visit despite the temporary mess there due to the upgrading works. Depending on when you’re going to visit; the airport could be completed by then.
Actually the ‘chaos’ there is nothing compared to some of the places I’d encountered in Jakarta! ;)
