Beware of Follies

posted by FH2o

We had a nice Chinese dinner at a leading hotel in town which was meant to welcome the new deputy MD but since he couldn’t make it for unforeseen reasons and there is a 50% cancellation charge; the dinner went ahead irregardless. In other words I visited Miri at the right time! Nice. They say that we attract what we think about all the time; so I must be some kind of glutton of sort! I can't think of a better way to spend a rainy friday night in Miri with a chance to meet and mingle with the people in the company I would be working with.

I thought the feature semi-spiral staircase at the lobby has a rather interesting warning sign. Funny how it is that people can still screw up on the most simple and obvious thing that they should put the most care and attention on but did not. Perhaps they may need the alcohol-infused patrons to the restaurants and the karaoke rooms on the first floor to sign a waiver or release of liability form if they choose to use the stairs instead of the lift. *sigh*

When I see stairs like that, I turn into a kid and want to play with a Slinky.
Spiral staircase is bad fengshui la.. sure got people fall one..

which is why in a chinese houxe. spiral staircase, if any, is always outside the house or for emergency use only..

strange emergency use = emergency fall
