'Salted' Curry Ramen @ Kuching Airport
posted by FH2o
My MAS flight from Kuching to Miri was delayed for over an hour and since it was nearing noon time; I thought I might as well grab some lunch before my flight and headed for the restaurant located on the ground floor at one one of the building.I love curries and so I ordered their "Curry Ramen" which is basically curry noodles. It arrived and my first mouthful was to be my last as it was the saltest thing I had ever tasted in my life! I cannot believe anyone can eat anything as salty as this and I went to the counter to speak with the manager or whoever was in charge but no one seems to be in charge nor is concerned about the saltness of the food saying that it's "biasa" - just normal lah! Problem's with the fussy customer lah!
Anyway I have a long day ahead and I'm not gonna get myself flustered over a plate of noodles, left it and I went up to the first floor to grab a muffin and coffee instead. So if you like very salty food (and do not suffer from hypertension) - you know where to go in Kuching to elevate your blood sodium level! Whatever.

Post a CommentIs the "Don't leave Kuching before trying our Sarawak Laksa" stall still operating in Kuching airport. That was last century .. before the renovation. Wonderful!
lam chun see - We now have KFC and Starbucks to replace our "Sarawak Laksa". A sign of progress? Or a step backwards ... ;)
BTW I am still waiting for a chance to buy you and family our "Sarawak Laksa"!

So far our planned trip to S'wak is all talk and no action. We have plans to visit this co that sells carnivorous plants and of coure to to river kayaking with you. But, nowadays, the kids are so busy and flying everywhere it's diff to arrange for family holiday. My son for example has already gone to 2 countries without us. One to Taiwan Sun Moon Lake for a kayaking marathon and another to China as part of school educational trip. I do know some schools arrange educational trips to East Msia.
In Spore you can find all sorts of laksa - Penang, Ipoh, several local varieties but not Sarawak Laksa :(
