A fool’s avenue for expensive hawker food in a loud & sweaty place in Kuching.
NOTE: I think I’d better moan about something else other than work today lest I turn into a boring old bore … so I’ll moan about something else today!
Some places you’ll probably visit just once or twice (or never again!) - and this is one of them!
‘Food Avenue’ is basically a pimped-up outdoor food court with the same average hawker food you find in coffee shops or hawker center - except with pimped up prices! With a ‘glorified’ sounding name like ‘avenue’ in a down to earth like Kuching; what do you expect? Expensive bland tasting empty calories that gives hawker food a bad name I would say. I saw a ‘Wi-FI’ sign - so presumably ‘free’ wi-fi is available although I do not find it conducive to do any web surfing in the non-airconditioned place in the daytime.
There’s huge projection screen which should please football fans or those who just want an excuse to hang out with their beer mates. If you are one of them then head towards 4th Mile Road and it’s just after Boulevard facing ‘Everise’. And you wouldn’t find me there!

I think foodavenue is the best food court in kuching and the prices on all the drinks and food are fair , the near by food courts are so dirty and smelly.
pay 80 cents for kopi O then ask for the passwords and make sure your laptop have wireless if you are not poor like me go to starbucks… aircon …cool… and class.. but very very expensive
Food avenue is the outstanding family food court in town not like other ordinary food courts in every corner of shop lots. Must go and try and feel the difference.
stylish and clean ,good test on mee siam and pinoy foods but green road kolo mee and popiah are too simple and little,over all prices on foods and drinks are OK, too clouded in the evening, need more car park. 4 stars rated ****

I am a mee lover and I tried the Beef Noodle at tHe Spring Food bazaar.
It’s simply delicious and I would recommend you all to try.
Not too expensive at RM5.50 for normal and RM7.00 for special serving.
This one puts Mdm Tang’s beef noodles to shame. Ah Mui’s beef mee is no match either - I don’t like the bean sprouts.

have u guys/gals try the Hippo Hot Plate noodle at the spring food bazaar and boulevard food court??? I like their hot plate lamb noodle with season sause, quite unique and suits my taste.
I had been there and I tried the food, for one thing a disappointment when going for the laksa stall full of flies and no cover. It is an average place to me comparing other food stalls as there are so many to choose, the place look nice and because it is new. The hygene for some stalls are not enough and some people do not mind I guess but nowadays it is better to upgrade themselves , neat and clean so all customers will be willing to go to places like this

Actually, i also quite love this place then become the loyalty and regular customer. But what make me very disappointed recently was the service when you order drink. I was very surprised and unbelievable that after end of conversation with my friends around half end hour ago, still not waitress came to serve us. Just two of the new coming take the order and serve the drink to customer. The question now is where the others. I think the owner/management of food avenue must look into this case and hopefully can improve in the future.
