Get out of chat rooms and get a life.
I don’t have the time (nor inclination) to visit and chat in chat rooms (I do have a life!). But I had a Cbox on my sidebar as a commenting and chat widget for the longest time oblivious to the fact that it is causing a nuisance to anyone visiting my site by way of a sneaky pop up. And this sucks as this is not only deceitful but also slows down browser loading by hogging system resources. As I had anti-virus as well as anti-spyware on my computer I was blissfully unaware of this until a friend pointed this out to me recently complaining that my blog is slow to load. While I use FireFox, my friend still insist on using IE which does not block annoying pop ups as well as FireFox. I think this is despicable of Cbox not withstanding the fact that we all want free chat and most likely had given them consent to do so when we sign up as most of us don’t even bother to read what’s in their terms on agreement of use. Whatever. But they suck.
Needless to say, I had promptly removed ‘CB’ Cbox from all my websites and installed an alternative chat widget which has no sneaky pop-ups whatsoever. Well for now at least. And the other cool thing about this chat widget is that it has somehow managed to slip under the radar of my office’s “Fortiguard” and is not blocked! So let’s chat now and we don’t even have to go visit chat rooms. Whatever.
