Kuching Sunset 22 December 2008

I think skies are so beautiful.

And that beauty is all around us.

We just need to be aware of this.
Despite the hardships and sufferings that living sometimes brings.

So we need to pause, to look; and to be just as beautiful.
I need to be reminded. So I looked and I captured for later.

Life is beautiful. And so are you.

Trusting that you’ve had a beautiful Christmas.

Hi Francis. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the recently kayaking experience in your beautiful country. Pls convey my thanks to your 2 very professional guides; especially Azmi. Without his thoughtful provision of a ‘back rest’; the ride would have been a torture for my stiff back.

Just wanted to check with you the name of the villages where we started and ended our ride. I seem to recall seeing a sign that said Sungei Abang.

I wonder if it is just my imagination from seeing too many cloud photos in your blog. On the way back to Kuching Airport, I noticed that the clouds in Sarawak seem to be extra beautiful.

Hi Chun See. I’m so glad that we had the opportunity to meet up at last after reading your blog for the past few years!

I’m so glad that you and your family enjoyed the kayaking experience with Azmi and Max. You put in at Kg Bengoh on a tributary named Sungai Abang which flows into Sungai Sarwak Kiri with your first stop at Kg Danu with the suspension bridge. You took out at Kg Semadang with the steep steps leading up to the kampung.

Glad that you could appreciate my fascinations with the clouds here! Here’s wishing you and family all the best in 2009!

One bonus for me was encountering that Bailey Bridge at Kg Bengoh. As you might know, I was a combat engineer during my national service days. Haven’t been that close to one since 1978 and thus able to boast … I mean .. educate my children about what is a Bailey Bridge.

Yes. Most young people today would not know or heard of a Bailey Bridge.

It’s a proven design and the one at Kg Bengoh although I am sure it was meant to be a temporary bridge is still holding up well over the years.

I am sure you took some photos of it. And if not I would be most happy to send you a couple.
