Zoe & Varena having a splashing good time under a waterfall @ Borneo Highlands. 15 August 2008 Photo by Azmi, edited by FH2o
While I was put through the grille this week during our budget review meetings Azmi and Max are having a splashing good time out kayaking on the waters of Borneo Highland. Azmi told me that today was a particularly pleasant day and when I saw the photos he took of Zoe Last from Ipswich, England and Verena Aumaur of Vienna, Austria I can clearly understand why. Guess who has a better job huh? *sigh*
Irregardless, here’s wishing you all a splashing good time this weekend.

Alexandra (and dad Greig) having one of the most brilliant Sundays on the rainforest river of Sarawak. 6 July 2008
You must have read this a dozen times already on this blog about me having a brilliant Sunday kayaking on the waters of Borneo Highlands but I’m going to repeat myself again here - I had a brilliant Sunday kayaking down Sungai Sarawak Kiri with my friend Choo Hock and his wife Annie and their children Jasper, Dennise and Kelly. Choo Hock’s sister and children on holidays from KL also joined in the fun.

On one of our many stops - everybody wants the magical moments to linger on. 6 July 2008.
Also joining us were lone traveller Jodrg Weinhold from Germany and Australians Greig Blucher and daughter Alexandra Blucher who was literary gushing about it being “one of the most beautiful days of her life” in our guest book. Take a look at these photos and you’ll be gushing too. If this is not brilliant; I don’t know what else is! And definitely way more brilliant than your day job that’s for sure! Well, for me anyway. *wink*

A really brilliant family Sunday out on the brilliant waters of Borneo Highlands. 6 July 2008

Cynthia Chan and gang went kayaking with us on the 20th April 2008. The rest of ‘the gang’ comprise Peiling, Ju, Calvin and Johnny. Also joining them was Adeline Teng from Asian Overland Services Tour & Travel and her son Jason with Azmi and Max guiding the group.

Although Cynthia, Peiling and Ju all shared their kayaking experience in their blogs; Ju’s post is easily the most comprehensive and with the most number of photographs that we’ve come across! Go check them all up and after reading about the wonderful time they had kayaking @ Borneo Highlands, I’m pretty sure you would want to go kayaking soon! Thanks Cynthia, Peiling and Ju for sharing your wonderful experiences with us.

Azmi with Rebecca Atkins and Jon Rowe from the UK.
A lot of people have taken our rainforest kayaking adventure trips and without exception, thanks to Azmi, Max and crew, they all had an enjoyable time. Apart from the kind compliments in our guest book, this short to-the-point remark in Jon Rowe’s blog is one of the sweetest to our ears:-
“http://www.kuchingkayak.com/ were the people we used and they were really good; skilled, friendly, but not in-your-face.”

KUCHING KAYAK - where the adventure begins …
Upgrade to WordPress 2.5 - where your woes with uploading photos begins … *sigh*
No doubt inspired by Folbot’s newly redesigned website, I also set about to work on Kuching Kayak’s website yesterday and I’m quite pleased with it. Please check it out and let me have your feedback. But I am no less pleased at all that I’m still unable to upload my photos to this blog after upgrading to WordPress 2.5 and I am so glad that I did NOT upgrade Kuching Kayak’s website and which is why I am still able to upload the above image. I have started reading the forums for help and it would seem that this is a major problem that has no clear solution yet - so if you are using WordPress 2.3; please do NOT upgrade to 2.5. I am seriously contemplating switching back to 2.3 even though I hate going backwards … *sigh*
