Even More Ridiculous

by admin on April 19, 2008

Last week I posted about this ridiculous situation where we have this small hongkie group who does not want to go kayaking on a rainforest kayaking trip!

And it gets even more ridiculous today with this group of 10 from Royal Brunei Airlines Hong Kong & Southern China Agents (and again arranged arranged by STB) who on arrival at the put-in at Bengoh decided to sit it out in their air-conditioned coach leaving Azmi, Max and Bev who were ready to guide them with the kayaks and gears ready, dumbfounded and more than a little perplexed at these superficial tour agents. Next time STB should just send these sort people shopping, karaoke and for hanky-panky massages instead or not bloody entertain them at all. What a waste of time and money. *sigh*

This post is still ridiculously bare naked without any photos as despite my best efforts at changing the folder’s permission(s), creating new folders with 777 permissions and re-installation of WordPress; I am still unable to upload any photos. I still get this darn confounded error message - “Unable to create directory /public_html/fh2o/wp-content/uploads/2008/04. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”

Any ideas anyone out there? Before I tear out whatever remaining ridiculous tuffs I still have remaining on top of my head. I would be eternally grateful. Really. For the remaining tuffs of hair I mean.

WoesPress Version 2.5 indeed. *sigh*

And it is just as ridiculous as the booking we had yesterday from the “Hong Kong Travel Guide Book” who booked our ‘Rainforest Kayaking Adventure Trip’ for 4 people a couple of weeks ago through STB but then informed us through the ground handlers the night before that the kayaking trip is still on but actually they do not want to go kayaking!

Nonetheless Azmi met them at the put-in at Kg Bengoh and it turned up that they have a (pretty) model in tow whom they want to take photos of in a kayak rainforest setting complete with forest fires and smoke … Go figure!

Photo above: Pretty ridiculous - ridiculous pose and ridiculous situation. Hence the ridiculous cut-out of the photo by me taken by smitten Azmi - whatever.

Chinese New Year Laze

by FH2o on February 9, 2008

cnyrathead.jpgI went CNY visiting yesterday afternoon and cycling at night (around 10.30pm) to work off the calories and was chased by a pack of stray dogs at Sama Jaya Industrial Estate. I never realize that I could cycle that fast! Rats!

It was raining this morning, so I stayed home and spent sometime tweaking my Kuching Kayak website - which I have been meaning to do since I updated it this year. I am worried about design usability issues and eagerly awaiting comments/feedback with regards to the revamped site.

Anyway I have 2 upcoming trips soon - one of which I hope I don’t have to make and another that I would dearly love to go on! We’ll see how it goes. Meanwhile I’m kicking back and enjoying the Chinese New Year laze!

Done For January

by FH2o on January 30, 2008

I wished this post could be titled “Joyful January” but I’m really done for January and really looking forward to a fabulous February with Chinese New Year on next Thursday, 7th February 2008. Fabulous as in having the entire week off only having to go back to work (dirty word) on Wednesday, 13th February 2008! Yeah!

It’s the Year of the Rat in this Chinese lunar year but unfortunately there are still plenty of ‘pigs’ around and there was another encounter with one the other morning who thinks his father or grandfather owns the road. *sigh*

Sometimes it can be hard to control the urge to scratch or throw a rock … *sigh*

On a much more pleasant note, I am almost done with the kayaking trips posts for January uploaded to our revamped www.kuchingkayak.com and you can check out them all out in the January 2008 Archive. I am glad that I’d revamped the site as it is now so much easier to update and we can now easily post the photos for our guests to download at their leisure there. They don’t have to come and search every corner here leafing through my lame posts and rantings …

Anyway I trust that your January was much better and here’s wishing you a fabulous February and may the only pigs you encounter are the roasted or BBQ kind!

Do You Know the Way to San Jose?

by FH2o on January 23, 2008

sanjosekayaking.jpg

Somewhere on a river in Sarawak and a long way from San Jose.

Diem Tran, 25 and Cam Tu Nguyen, 24 of Vietnamese heritage but who hails from San Jose, USA obviously do. However they do not know the way to Krokong, Bau where they went for our rain forest kayaking adventure trip with Azmi on Saturday, 19th January 2008 and ended up at the Wind Cave, Bau. Whichever way you looked at it - it was an adventurous holiday to remember forever.

But some of you are probably too young to know this famous Dionne Warwick’s song; so here goes:
