My past couple of posts must have given the impression that my situation at work to be quite terrible. It is.
Actually I love my work and working in the company and I get along great with everyone (saved for the swines mentioned of course) but since the beginning of the year, the damage done to the company has been considerable and I’d been waiting to see how much more we bled before something drastic is done to redress the situation. I’ve been the only fool person who dared to speak out and I had paid the price of being sidelined in all the petty and not so petty nor pretty ways that they can think of. But to be true to myself and what I believed in, I know no other way. Others had been cowered to silence, obedience or resignation. But not me. I’m bigger than them despite their positions and I am not going to give them that satisfaction; so I’m going to remain a thorn in their arses and if the opportunity present itself I’m going to up the ante and go for broke. Let’s see who’ll blink first.

At first it was upsetting with the abrupt withdrawal of certain privileges to those not of a certain position but the all important memo directing this could not be opened. Some people would have gotten the sack or promptly demoted for such laxity in the handling of as sensitive and important matter as this.
Anyway after this was pointed out, a viewable memo was re-sent the following day and the obfuscations in it with words such as “data cleaning” and spelling errors confusing “corporation” for “cooperation” is not only embarrassing but perhaps a clear reflection and indictment of mismanagement murkiness.
Enjoy these abstract close ups reflections snaps of Sungai Stutong, Kuching with no obscurations or obfuscations whatsoever. Whatever.

This is Friday already and again I’d been slack with my postings. *horrors* I have no excuse - I really should share my interesting experiences, images I’d snapped and some of the evil dubious thoughts I had. Some people do read this blog. Really.

Anyway it had been eagerly waited upon, anticipated, dangled, promised, delayed, further delayed and eventually released this week to one’s utter disappointment as the lowest on record putting a damper on delusional hopes of a bumper windfall on account of outstanding profits last financial year. Wake up stewpig drones! You’d bloody just wasted one year sacrificing your life to the company for a pittance. *sob*
Try to enjoy your weekend will you? Worst could come. I did say “try” and the “could” is coming. *sigh*

Bev had an appendectomy (appendix removed) about 2 weeks ago and as we had been running flat out since last week, her help this morning with the kayaking trip is greatly appreciated by Azmi and Max. The World Rainforest Music Festival annually brings in an influx of visitors at this time of the year and as more people get to know of our kayaking trips through the rainforests; they jumped at the opportunity to do so when they are in Kuching.
Anyway Bev was at my place before sunrise to await Bakrie, former seaman and now our van driver, to pick some guests from Damai Puri Resort and as we chatted, a beautiful sunrise unfolds and I ran inside the house to get my camera.
I think I do have a knack for capturing beautiful skies and those who disagree are obviously jaded or just plain jealous! Bakrie our driver was late not jealous and to spoil my mood further who when introduced to Bev remarked to me,
“Your son kah?”
Bev had a bellyache which probably does her post-appendectomy recovery no good. *sigh*

While I’m on the topics of outrageous buildings in China; here’s another spectacular one that is being proposed for the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai.
I think the design doctrine these days is to do it “just because I can!”. That’s the way it is for cheap thrills and ‘up yours’ mentality! Same as the egoistical attitude of some bullying senior executive who try to cover up their incompetence and insecurities by finding faults with others while avoiding making the hard decisions.*sigh*
Here’s the description and the images of this striking design in the form or a human character in this inhumane world.

The REN Building is a proposal for a hotel, sports and conference center for the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai. The building is conceived as two buildings merging into one. The first building, emerging from the water, is devoted to the activities of the body, and houses the sports and water culture center.

The second building emerging from land, is devoted to the spirit and enlightment, and houses the conference center and meeting facilities.

The two buildings meet in a 1000 room hotel, a building for living.

The building becomes the Chinese sign for ‘The People’, and a recognizable landmark for the World Expo in China.

REN building in Shanghai - a symbol of human or the dominance of human over this planet or the inhumane nature of man?
