Early in the week I received a call inquiring about the suitability of our rainforest kayaking adventure trip for families with young children comprising a small group of about 6. I explained that it is fine as our trips are designed for beginners and suitable for all ages without any serious medical condition. The gentleman called me back several times over the course of the week and with each call adding more and more people to his group! No dates on when they would like to do the trip was mentioned. Then on Friday he confirmed that they would like to do it this Sunday and by which time his group of friends have increased to 16! That was fine as although we have another group going out then, we still have enough kayaks and guides to take care of them.
A happy group of Koreans having fun at the start of their kayaking trip @ the Kg Bengoh put-in at Borneo Highlands, Kuching. 17 August 2008
However yesterday evening I received another call asking us if we could accomodate another family of five bringing the total to 21! And again another call last night pleading us to take in another group of 10 but which of course we couldn’t as we were well overbooked already with another group going out under the care of Bev. Sorry.
I think one of the best fun and adventure thing to do while on holidays or vacation in Kuching is to take our rain forest kayaking trip floating down the beautiful jungles of Borneo. I’m bias of course but to me it is the only true “world class” attraction that we have in Kuching, Sarawak and probably in Malaysia. We have taken out enough tourists from all over the world over the past 2 or so years to know that this is not an empty boast.
Not green with envy but having a “fern” Sunday at home. 17th August 2007 .
Canon G9 : Available light, ISO 80, F4, Speed 1/500sec
Anyway I wished I could have joined them this Sunday morning kayaking through the beautiful rainforests but I’m nursing a pulled left shoulder and have to contend myself with having a “fern” Sunday at home enjoying my garden. Trusting that your weekend have been fun and ideally a green one as well. Not green with envy but earth friendly.
